My father died in Vietnam when I was nine months old, so I am well aware of the deaths involved.
The United States never really lost a battle in Vietnam. However, there was very little public support for the war with the American public. The politicians didn't allow the military to do what it needed to do. At a certain point we had a choice between going all out or walking away, and the politicians decided it was time to get out.
