Would you be able to work as well without cPanel? I've always had it since the start, but now I'm switching hosts (to a faster one and saving 50 bucks per month), turns out the host has no cPanel or alternative. If I want something done, I can ask them and they do it.
I've only just found this out, so I'm trying to work out if I can live without cPanel, here's the stuff I regularly go there for
- Creating new Wordpress blogs - Now I would need to ask the host do this
- AWStats - I have Google Analytics also, but I like to look at both
- IP Deny Manager - I can do this manually I believe
- phpMyAdmin - I use it for mass search/replace in Wordpress databases, maybe there is a Wordpress plugin instead?
- Subdomains - Can be done manually I assume
What are your thoughts? Is cPanel worth sticking with or is it just a matter of finding quick workarounds for all of this? I'm very keen to save the $50 per month and have a faster server too, as long as I'm not shooting myself in the foot at the same time.
