Trump made a calculated move that he knew would piss the PRC off -- disregarding the One-China policy.
So, if this is the only payback -- take a chill-pill and reconsider your options. This wasn't opening negotiations -- this was sucker-punching below the belt from the Chinese point of view.
If China was parading surface fleets, with hostile capabilities, in international waters, off the west coast of the USA: we would be shitting-bricks over it.
The US Navy is doing this in the South China Sea -- that is the way the Chinese see it.
