Where are the resident networking experts? Feel like being helpful?

This guy I know has a property with a lot of people in it and he's had access to a fast pipe for years that costs nothing.. he has been charging quite a few people for internet on a monthly basis over there
He's asking me what to do now that he won't have access to the OC3 anymore
Well it's not an OC3 but he gave some big rambling about it being equivalent, something about being more than one of some other kind of connection
What the hell do I know, I wasn't really listening to that part because who cares

Anyway the idiots in the property are all very old, they use almost no bandwidth, and I told him he could probably just use a regular internet connection. I just ain't sure how he can do it without pissing off the cable co

He's got it set all up with a wifi that covers the whole building so that part is taken care of - the only issue is figuring out how to get that a connection out to the internet without spending a lot of money

Will the cable co notice 100+- devices? He was thinking maybe he could use a VPN to get around that issue but I said, well, it'll probably slow everything down so I told him he's a moron
Then he said some insulting statement back to me
We love to treat each other horrible
This is how friendships are born

I see his concern there because if he's generating $1400/mo providing internet he can't be spending $2000 monthly on the connection
Though I did tell him that we're both dinosaurs and a fossil, him and I both, this ain't the old days where a T3 was billions of dollars monthly or anything
I suggested the possibility of finding a microwave internet provider but I don't think that one exists anywhere near us or that the setup cost would be a good idea
