Unless you have set your laptop up from the very start with encrypted volumes and multiple users they are pretty much impossible to secure, especially Windows machines.
One thing you can do is get an old Ipad and leave it out on the table for people to use. Probably the cheapest solution, and if the Ipad is out there readily available no one is going to ask about your laptop.
The way I do it is to have two separate platforms. All the adult business is done on Linux or Windows, and all Mainstream and anything to do with my Family life is all on Apple.
