I agree with you about not always going to the emergency room. When I took my son there were 2 welfare moms that were there, there reason? To get free food & diapers for their kids while waiting, then they left, as their babies weren't actually in need of a doctor

If your child was porn six weeks premature... That's a bit different.
One time our kid was sick and gave her some cough medicine. A short time later she was out cold and stay down for a bit longer than we expected. Then we discovered she had swallowed the entire bottle of cough medicine behind our back. Shortly before full panic mode set in we call my wife's mother, who worked as a nurse for decades. She told us not to worry to just let her sleep it off.
