I got an email from Amazon yesterday to try PrimeNow. $10 off to try it, delivery within 2 hours max, up to midnight Christmas eve.
Around 5pm after my kid left for work I went out to get some last minute stocking stuffers and realized he took my car. I didn't know if something was wrong with his so I said Fuck it, went back in and checked out PrimeNow.
I live by the beach so mail delevery, or any delivery really, we're last on the route usually. Long story short I ended up ordering LOTS of stuff because everything from chips to paper towels were a minimum $1 less than what I pay at our store.
After I ordered I could watch the delivery guy, Stuart, on Google maps deliver each of his 2 other deliveries through Laguna Beach before reaching me with a "contact driver" button available if we needed to communicate. Delivered in about an hour, on Christmas Eve.
I know that here in Cali people are legally paid a great living wage so no guilt using Amazon. People who live in states that allow Fuck over wages are the same place where waitresses work on tips only, they should feel guilty. Amazon will follow the laws there and save money where possible it's good business.
Pretty soon my order will be fulfilled by robots and a self driving car, or drone, will deliver it.
