I live by the beach so mail delevery, or any delivery really, we're last on the route usually. Long story short I ended up ordering LOTS of stuff because everything from chips to paper towels were a minimum $1 less than what I pay at our store.
After I ordered I could watch the delivery guy, Stuart, on Google maps deliver each of his 2 other deliveries through Laguna Beach before reaching me with a "contact driver" button available if we needed to communicate. Delivered in about an hour, on Christmas Eve.
I know that here in Cali everyone from the distribution center people to the driver are paid a great living wage so no guilt using Amazon. People who live in states that allow Fuck over wages are the same place where waitresses work on tips only. Amazon will follow the laws there and save money where possible it's good business.

These wages are often dependent by the state you live in and how competitive the pay is in the area. With that said their delivery drivers are not hourly rate, they are more like an uber for package delivery set up. People working at Amazon WH's in FL for example are making $10-12/hr to start meanwhile Mcdonalds in Denver pays $10)
btw this is what I was taking about in my other post about Republicans pushing states to go Right to Work. I've personally seen the direct effects and the difference between RTW and non RTW states. The only odd ball that hasn't been consistently true is the Denver area. Co is a RTW state but the Denver area has a high pay rate due to it being a boom city. They still however fuck you on things like over time though.
