We are all connected. What I type right now, here in California, will be seen by your eyes , wherever you are, soon.
What I type will be felt by you. To feel is to love, and want to be loved. Death is the loss of a direct connection to the living and brings on a sadness for that loss, knowing someone is not alive on this earth, breathing the air we share. Our spirits find strength from what remains behind in our hearts, memories & recorded media.
Your emphasis on empathy for the dead of war, unknown to you, as opposed to the dead you've experienced via media during their life, is interesting.
The recorded murder of an unknown ISIS victim you watch on a screen as it happens gives more empathy than the death of a Hollywood star, and so it should. We value both, and are moved by both, and for that the universe brings us hope, love and new beginnings.
