A lot of the problems the West makes is thinking these people want to live peacefully. Enough don't to ensure the region will never be at peace.
They have too many old wars to refight to ever be at peace.
I just finished Watching Ottomans vs Europeans. It explains why the Serbs hate Bosnians. It's more about Serbs revenging the atrocities the Ottomans carried out in days gone by. Can you image Europeans/American of European descent thinking the same about each other because of wars 500 to 100 years age?
