I keep my browser fairly lean, with no plugins. I've chosen to uninstall Flash, but apart from that, I present to the internet as pretty close to a standard default install.

I don't mind non-intrusive ads, it's the tracking that bothers me. It's really creepy to look up something on ebay, then go to Facebook and be shown an ad from ebay begging me to look at the same product. Makes me wonder how much information is being shared between Facebook and their advertisers - there's at least linking of my activity based on IP addresses or cookies...
