Party politics doesn't matter to me. Sure, some states are more important in some cycles than others. Roughly the same 10-12 states have been "battleground" states the last 20 years, but that will likely change at some point in the future.

All I want is every vote to count the same no matter where you live.

If it were a popular election the candidates would be forced to campaign almost everywhere (they would all likely skip the smallest states still) because they wold need to appeal to voters in all areas in order to get enough votes to win.
