Replacing it is the problem. A civilised country needs to be able to offer all of its citizens a decent level of Healthcare. The US can only do this at the moment by paying the outrageous prices the US Health Industry demands.

I think, eventually, the US will end up with some kind of socialized healthcare like the rest of the modern world has. We will take the long route to get there, as we sometimes do on things, but eventually we will get there because I can't see any plan either party would put forward that will curb the cost of healthcare which is the real problem. As long as costs continue to rise all the plans in the world won't matter. At some point we will likely have to blow the whole system up an rebuild it. I have no idea when that will happen. I would guess it will be at least another 20+ years.
