"About grace and redemption periods
For most extensions, Register4Less provides you with a 40 day grace period in which you can renew your domain after expiry at the normal renewal price. If your domain is expired, however, any email, web hosting or other service will stop working.
Once the grace period ends, a registry imposed 30 day redemption period adds an $80 redemption fee to the normal renewal fee, and during this time, a redemption renewal is the only guaranteed way to retain ownership of your domain. Once the redemption period is over, the domain will be released and become available to anyone to register as a new domain."
