I was looked at with a mixture of disdain and amusement when I spoke to my local branch about outgoing sepa payments not too long after it was introduced (though obviously it already had, how the staff weren't informed/trained on this was beyond me). Granted we are further down the line now, but for sure, the vast, vast majority of the UK at least have never heard of SEPA.
