just for a start: Apple is only like 30% of Foxconns revenue. It would hurt them if Apple left but it won't kill them

and many Chinese companies have very deep pockets to buy western businesses and akquire knowhow they might be lacking
Apple was an example, but most of the other companies foxconn does business with are US companies or "non Chinese companies.. Foxconn isn't moving their own products. They aren't producing their own brands and selling them world-wide, meaning if they lose their manufacturing business they are dead. Foxconn makes other companies products, they aren't researching and developing stuff to sell or creating new products/markets.

Again, I don't think much of anything will happen. Trump is a blow hard and he will get a lot of resistance from US companies.. He will do a lot of huffing and puffing in the media and then he and china will play nice..

edit..

As a side note this sort of proves the argument even more that China is just a labor pool.. I always thought Foxconn was Chinese but it's not. It's a Taiwan-based firm. Meaning it's not even a Chinese company. They could just as easily build factories elsewhere and keep US relations..during a trade war, if that actually happen and China couldn't do anything to stop them.
