It really depends on what your goal is.

Think of it like this. Back in the day a webmaster named the Hun decided to open a site named the Hun. But nobody gave two shits about it because they were all jacking off to other established sites.

So he bought some traffic and those who came bookmarked because his galleries were always a bit more kinky than the other guys. He was then able to trade traffic with other larger sites. But he made sure to only trade desirable countries to his trades. This in turn caused them to send him good traffic.

Better than the conversions, he was getting his brand out there. Soon people were telling friends about this kinky place where the "good stuff" could be found.

Last week he took the Webmaster of the Year award with his TGP in the day of tubes. That says something about branding over just trying to get eyeballs.

First, you need a unique product. Then you need a brand somebody can remember. Then you need to get traffic that wants your product and will remember your brand (Twistys). Otherwise you are just another fish in the sea.

All large tubes buy traffic, buy links and have a brand.
