Would I be better off making websites with WordPress or learning HTML/CSS/Javascript?

I went to developer student hangout tonight and a LOT of people there have spent the last 6-12 months trying to learn CSS and Javascript and struggling with it. None of them are job-ready and can't make a nice looking complete site yet.
A few people paid $10k+ for a developer bootcamp.

One guy has been learning Javascript for 2 years and says he's still not job ready. I was like are you fucking kidding me?

I can make decent WordPress sites in 3-10 days. They're not the best websites in the world but they look nice, work great on a phone and they are functional. I get compliments on my portfolio.

So I want to make sites as a freelancer would I be better off sticking with WordPress or should I learn HTML/CSS/Javascript for a better career?

I figure I can crank out WordPress sites for clients way faster than trying to do it in HTML/CSS/Javascript

tl;dr: I want to make some extra money on the side, should I make sites with WordPress or study HTML/CSS/Javascript?
