When I was a kid our whole summer's were spent picking strawberries for $1 a flat. The strawberry bus would come through the neighborhood every morning and would drop us off home every night at dusk sticky, stained and dirty with pockets full of money. I had 2 paper routes a day I did too with 20-30lbs of papers on front and back I delivered on my bicycle.

As my kid was growing I wanted him to have the same kind of work experience to grow his character & build confidence. Migrants do the strawberry picking, no bus for neighborhood kids anymore. Kids can't do paper routes anymore, it's done by Mexicans in a pickup trucks. Things change, but they can always change back as far as who does a job
