Voter turnout is and was not the only problem. A huge problem was the education and information level of the voting public. Civics and logical thinking should be mandatory subjects in school to ensure the next generation of voters knows how to arm itself with real facts so they can form logical, valid opinions that are not simply based on emotions and catchphrases.

So that is your opinion. And millions of other people have a different one, from various reasons and life experiences. That is precisely why there is voting. Everyone thinks that their facts are real. Including those guys with dynamite vests and beards. Actually, they don't question anything even if presented with other facts. Similar like people are acting here.
It all depends on education, will to learn and control of information. Unfortunately, education is not free and what is even worse, are the medias that are controlled by someone's interests. At the top of that, books and history are written by those who are on power.
There are no independent medias. Behind every report you see, there is someone's interest. Including promotion of Kim Kardashian's ass. Expecting that people have time and will to investigate things is utopia. It won't happen. So they will accept facts that are presented by someone who has an interest in forming their opinion and getting their vote. Lies and agendas are everywhere. Basic example that would go unnoticed to 99,99% of viewers. (0:22)
