Building a wall isn't going to stop anyone from coming over.
Even if we could build a six thousand mile wall.... You would have to have it manned twenty-four hours a day. If you have a single mile not manned what would stop people from driving a bulldozer right up to it and physically destroying it? Not to mention they can just use planes or helicopters or hang gliders to get over. Hell, they are moving drugs over the wall using large sling shots.
