But you look at Ukraine , it is a very similar situation and the USA has no problems supporting the " rebels" into power.
Look at Syria, US has no problems supporting jihadists that are not even from Syria ... and call them rebels .
And this morning, at that prayer lunch speach, Trump said somewthing like :

The problem is Russia & Iran do the same.. When the US was at war in Iraq, the rebels were funded by Iran & Russia. You act as if only the US does this but Russia's entire game was funding "revolutions" since WW2. Sure they were doing it as the former USSR but lets get real here, Putin thinks Modern Russia is the USSR...
Russians were funding rebels all over South America, all over Asia & most recently in the ME. This is why the US doesn't give Russia room the play anymore and why NATO has Russia boxed in.. It's not a issue of poor little Russia the good guys. Russia was always the protagonist since WW2 funding revolutions since then.. They only stopped with the USSR fell apart but Putin is once again been doing it now mostly in the ME & Africa.
If you notice the US doesn't mess around much in Africa.. Why is this? It's because the world powers spit up the map after WW2 Russia & China were to get power of Africa. The US/Europe would have power over the ME. Russia wouldn't stay out of the ME and stay with-in Africa.. This is why Russia is now boxed in because Russia didn't play by the rules they kept trying to move in on the area which were agreed to be US/Euro controlled.
