That's a very wrong statement. The Americans are very localized (a that's true), but not Russians and most of Europeans too. I don't know what's going on in the modern schools, but when I was a kid, we have learned the world's geography for years.

Dude! Here's the truth... Ready... EVERY Russian wants to visit America and most at the end of their visit will apply for residency.. this is why Russians know some states in America, because they fall asleep at night dreaming of what state they would immigrate to. I've filmed many young handsome Russian college guys here in America, they never want to go back, and won't lol
Ask 100 Americans walking down the street if they want to visit Russia, just visit, even for free trip 100% paid for, you will see this odd look on their face then a giggle maybe turning into a laugh
