This is pretty much shitty journalism...
?This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution.?
means something else then:
"destroy capitalism"...
since when is "changing" > "destroying"?
[Btw... isn't this what antiglobalists love very much? Destroying capitalism?]
What she probably means is that if you want a cleaner earth you can't continue to polute like current capitalist system is poluting... somewhere a sacrifice needs to be taken...
Of course current economic system needs to be transformed....
there is more consumer plastic floating around in the ocean then there are stars in the sky... People get bored with bying 1 dollar plastic throwaway products massively overproduced by the Chinese and dumped on the market at dumprises...
Filling up empty hearts with plastic is not a sustainable future...

?This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history.?
