No, they just take advantage of people being off their guard then putting them on the spot with a camera in their face. People don't want to sound stupid so they go with whatever they think the guy is saying..Which in turn is trying to make them look stupid from the first place.
If you are a good interviewer you can manipulate things to be what you want them to be. They do this to lots and lots of people then cherry pick a few good ones. It's a extremely common tactic and you can do it anywhere to any group of people to say they are dumb..
