Usually presidents get a bump their first week or so in office. Not Trump. He is at 44%.

I wasn't talking about his popularity. I was talking about the reality that talking about getting things done during a campaign and actually governing once you have won are two very different things. I think he thought he could just roll into the White House and start doing as he pleased. He is learning that it doesn't work that way. Now we will see how he reacts.
Unless he does something spectacular, I don't see his approval rating/popularity going up much from where it is. In most elections, once it is over, there are some angry people, but most people are willing to give the new president a shot because they might disagree with him on some issues, but they don't hate him personally. It seems like that isn't true with Trump. It feels like most of the people who didn't vote for him despise him and it is going to take a lot to change their minds.
