You act like the rest of the circuits average better, they don't. The 3rd & 5th circuits have almost 100% reversal rate.
Most cases have a high chance of getting overturned at the supreme court. Remember, the supreme court chooses what they hear as well, no guarantee they'll hear this case
"Overall, this past term the Supreme Court reversed 75.3 percent of the cases they considered on their merits. The pattern holds true for the 2004 and 2005 terms as well, when the Supremes had overall reversal rates of 76.8 percent and 75.6 percent, respectively. " History of the supreme court appeals rate

They are above average on rulings being overturned... the point being that there is little legal standing for their ruling and based on their own history, little chance that it can't be over turned. Calling it a "bitch slap" when the most liberal court is making its typical "soon to be overturned" ruling is a bit silly.
Some of their decision on this case from what i read was bizarre... suggesting non citizens are "entitled to due process" etc etc etc. which is clearly not true by any stretch of the imagination.
The law that Trump used for the EO (and that was vetted by the DOJ) was a surprise to me. I didn't know something like that existed that gave the President that power... but the plain language of the law is very clear. Basically that he can do anything he wants in this arena, at his discretion, against any class or classes of people and any period of time.
He deserves the full backlash for continually saying "ban Muslims from..." during his campaign and then rolling this out without making an argument for it, without a suitable announcement and explanation and without stating its intent clearly.
Obviously its not a "Muslim ban" though that seems to be the favorite way to put it to draw an over the top emotional response from libearls, when there are almost 50 majority Muslim countries and only 7 disasters/enemies/failed states were targeted in that TEMPORARY 90 DAY BAN (from Obama's own list).
NO ONE is "entitled" to visit any country. I've been to well over 20 countries and spent a large portion of my life living between Europe and the USA as well as traveling and if that country requires a visa, they can deny it for any reason, without cause and without explanation, just as they can kick you out for any reason or deny you entry for any reason. I've had European friends in Russia get a black stamp on their passport making it impossible to ever return to Russia for getting into a simple argument about something stupid with a border guard (misspelling on something)
I've had dozens and dozens of visas and my last passport had to have extra pages added twice. I've been denied entry at airports. I've even been denied the ability to leave a country for over-staying a visa by a matter of 12 hrs. I've been held at gun point for being allowed to travel to a country hours before my visa was valid (before all airlines were made responsible and fined for not verifying visas, times/dates etc).
It's absolute insanity to try to argue that the USA and President (under the law he's using) doesn't have the right to deny entry to anyone they deem necessary to do so. Even more insane to argue that its a "right" to enter a country of which you aren't even a citizen of..
