WW1, which was Austria and Germany's fault, well the rulers. Caused huge problems for the rest of Europe, millions of deaths and casualties, debt, etc. Germany and Austria needed to be punished for it.
Germany had a habit of going to war long before WW1.
Hitler and Stalin agreed to share Poland before Hitler invaded.

about WW1 you are completely wrong. it was not germany´s fault but they had to sign in versaille that it WAS their fault - they had no other chance as to sign that shitty paper.
france had 1939 oficially the strongest army in the world - so what more did they want to build? TODAY (not 50 years ago) you can read the true story of the first WW in every historybook (exept in the french ones). i saw a quite new (US) documentation about it and found out some facts what i did not get teached because we where educated at the guilties.
but the true story is another one as you (as british) and i (as german) got told about it and god thanks meanwhile is this true story worldwide public.
you are old and think that the stuff you got teached when you was a child is correct. i am old too but i am still investigate if that what i think to know is right.
