And it's only been what 2 years in the span of the entire show so far? Even that long?

Dehydrated milk lasts forever, MRE's 30 years if kept cool. I mean they could literally find anything they wanted if it spread as fast as they portray it. Agree, everyone should be trained to use a sword and have shields, or hell get one of those body armor suits that covers your arms up to your neck, even your hands can't get cut thru, or feet/legs. I know it's hot, but you wanna die or be hot? Plus you know how easy it is to make reloads from your spend shell casings? Basically if they had one US Army survival issued notebook it would tell them how to do everything. Plus all the solar on all the homes, take those panels and use them, they are all over the place.
This is one of the things I do not understand about The Walking Dead.

I think after such an event it would be more like the movie "I Am Legend". He lived in a nice big house in the middle of the city, drove around in a nice new Mustang and a new SUV. He had top end weapons. He spent his days scavenging for supplies be it food or medication or weapons.

If everyone in the world died I would be driving anything I wanted.

It cracks me up when they all drive beat up SUVs on The Walking Dead. There would be dealerships full of brand new cars to pick from.
