My analogy would be: You and I have nothing to do with each other (just as you are suggesting with the U.S. and Sweden's situations).
But if you leave your front door unlocked, and then someone comes in late at night and hurts you...then I'm going to look at your situation and say: "Hey, look at what happened to Adam...I don't want that to happen at my house. So I am going to lock my front door"

It is totally relevant because we can look at Europe and see the results in France, Germany, and yes...Sweden.
Why would we want to duplicate their mistake?
