Here in Portland, there was a story a few years ago about teachers being told to not use a peanut butter and jelly sandwich as a reference in their classrooms because some students may come from cultures where sandwiches are regularly eaten and they were worried those kids would be offended by the reference.

So, yes, in Portland, a PB&J is racist.
