And I think the media started becoming lap dogs to the govt. once they were "embedded" with the troops during the Bush Administration.
It was definitely the exact OPPOSITE of the hard-hitting coverage of the Vietnam War.
The media all wanted those coveted spots "embedded" with troops. So all the reports coming back were all about the "Heroes" of the American military.
Wasn't until Abu Ghraib that any real negative reporting started coming out.
And that was only because CBS News was wanting to help John Kerry beat Bush in the 2004 election.
Until then...they kept that story under wraps.
