Most of these kids were drool down their fathers legs or wet dreams back then.
I started my working career in the late 70's with oil shocks and recessions -- those were bitter times of hardship for me -- I remember them well. Things have not changed that much for people starting out -- I empathize with them.
But blaming this hardship on mythical immigrants that have stolen your jobs is mindless. We failed at providing better job training in our schools just like we did 40 years ago.
The media is the same though ... Nothing wrong with that really ... You have to be able to think for yourself and analyze the news. You are the problem if you buy their bullshit verbatim -- look in the mirror.
