i am sorry - that is also not true.
USA was a part of an alliance of FIFTY nations including russia and china againt hitlers thirs reich and japan.
Especially mention must be made here of the role of china. Because for the help they gave to the USA in the war against Japan, they were officially awarded the island of taiwan in the cairo declaration.
these historical facts are mostly unmentioned when the taiwan topic comes up.
american public only knows that china wants taiwan and usa have to be the hero to prevent that. but that there is a contract, where USA gave them taiwan as thanks for the help against Japan is not part of the discussion.
