I've survived but most I know are gone because they weren't technically inclined.

It's legal to kick your dog to death and skin it alive as part of a ritual sacrifice but most don't do it because it's instinctively wrong.
Don't blame piracy for the decline of the porn industry. The decline was 100% due to the love of porn sites giving away free porn to scrape 1-100 sales and thinking that was wonderful.

I'm assuming 1-100 of the people who landed on a free TGP ever bought and that could be more or less. The result of that were millions who bought offline now didn't and some bought online but not as many.

Then selling 100's of videos for $30 was also a problem. Once we got off dial-up downloading a whole site in a month or two was easy and then the customer didn't have to buy for months. There were a few who bought longer memberships, but not enough to replace those who bought before.

Once Tubes sprung up the writing was on the wall. Tube sites were supported by the industry from day one. They couldn't have survived without it.

As for Kmart porn. 99% in this industry couldn't afford Macy's level porn. I should know as no one here would consistently pay $3,000 for a solo girl scene.
