I'm not religious or even spiritual in the least, but your definition of spirituality is grossly misinformed...
spirituality saves millions daily. it can help people cope with addiction, battle depression, reconnect with their family or friends. It can inspire people to do good for others, it can aid in rehabilitation. People who have lost everything. Family, money, jobs can sometimes be saved by having someone, maybe even a stranger, believe in them--even just a little bit is enough sometimes. Can knowledge save everyone from that? Are you going to take a class at a local community college to help you with your depression? I'm sure that would work for a few, but not most. You could spend years writing up a dissertation on anxiety, but would that help prevent you from suffering from it yourself? Probably not.
Whether it is done through religion or through ddp yoga who gives a shit? As long as someone finds something positive to help get back on track and maybe even give a little back themselves is only a good thing right? Humanity will never go forward unless spirituality exists in one form or another.
