If things are "tight" why would someone give $1,500/month to charity, or pay $1,000/month to basketball or piano lessons?

$700 a month is "tight"? I remember having $5 for 2 weeks once.

BMW 5 and Sienna? 3 vacations a year? Oh my heart bleeds for those poor people.
