The only thing Russia is blamed for there is that Russia has "invaded its neighbor in response to the attack". The Israelis would occupy their territory for that. The Americans would hung up their president. And Russians just came into the country and destroyed/captured their military arsenals, ships, tanks etc to give them a lesson. Everything (a whole war) took 5 days only and then Russian soldiers were pulled back. A big deal, right?
P.S. It was not some kind of a full-scale war. Only a part of North Caucasian military regiment was involved: 19,000 Russian troops vs 17,000 Georgian ones.
