To be fair, IMO Obama was a bit weak on his "red line" because Syria did in fact use chemical weapons previously and Obama did not act on it. Obviously, Russia complicated things but in the end Assad previously used chemical weapons and we did nothing.

I think it's too early to say one way or another if this was the right call or not. I dislike Trump and I do think he's a fool, but we can't just say "don't use chemical weapons or else" then they do it and we do nothing which in turns makes our warning meaningless.
