We sure have. All countries have. It's called the fog of war.
It's pretty obvious to you that the building was a school or a hospital. But in an airplane thirty thousand feet up, it was nothing more than a map grid or GPS coordinate.
But you have to understand the difference here. Assad (most likely) ordered his military to drop chemical weapons on his own citizens, where as the case you mentioned where the recent US bombing kill one hundred civilians was an accident which is being investigated.
