I'm gonna tell you about the only place in Newcastle that is worth mentioning. The only place I love and cherish. Newcastle universality is nice too, but it's supposed to be, it's a red brick university and shit posh shit and more shit...
Anyway, this place is way away from town located on shields rd... in short: it's a pub that opens at 9am and is surrounded by whore houses and got a separate table for lines. Fights happen. Yet, somehow, it's the nicest place. I used to come here with a friend, but he's gone, so I go alone. Not one person has ever joined me here I don't get it. I could say so much more, but probably regret later.
Anyway, the point is, I think, you can find understanding and compassion in the unlikeliest places. I know for a fact I won't meet a physics grad around here, and that's ok. This is not about drugs or violence either. It's about... being wasted?

We love you Farang!
Hey I think I know what you're doing in OZ, I went the same route with immigration on a student visa (better than leaving the country every e months).
Let me give you a tip someone gave me when I was in New South Wales, move to Queensland and go-to [url=https://www.griffith.edu.au/about-griffith/campuses-and-facilities/gold-coast]Griffith University Gold Coast Campus[/utl] like I did. The Golf Coast is super chill, you're right off the beach on this campus and despite the way it looks online it's literally 4 small buildings with a courtyard with the place never more than half full and almost all are subclass 485 visa foreign students as well and lots of great international contacts you'll make there. The in structors are super easy and getting your masters is a breeze, 2 years will be over before you know it and then you get you immigration process started

.
If school turns out to be too much a hassle I know a computer consulting company owner there that does pay for play work sponsor visas. My immigration attorney in the Gold Coast has all the contacts and pulled string more than once to get things done. If you need anything hit me up.
On the otherhand, I just realized you might be Australian returning back home and this whole post was a waste!

oh well, either way, hang in there and good luck man
