problem 1 - you used CNN as a source for information, so you have already started the discussion citing a propaganda source not an information source. CNN always cheerleads war. they profit from it. so them running a story why there is no doubt about assad is consistent with that.
problem 2 - you are attributing rational thought processes to both assad & ISIS, 2 parties that have shown no concern to murder innocents by the bushel, & in very cruel ways.
so between those 2 problems alone i hope you realize any conclusions you draw will be merely reflections of your mis-information, & personal biases, no matter how "objective" you want to be. sounds to me like you want to believe trump did it by your writing...you have that same empty speculation thing going like the media does all things trump/russia...
