The discussion will focus on civic engagement and community organizing, said his spokesman Kevin Lewis.
According to the Chicago Tribune, hundreds of people are expected to attend the 11:00am CT speech, which marks Obama's first public appearance since the presidential inauguration.
In an interview yesterday, longtime Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett said that Obama - who has stayed silent since President Trump took office - was looking forward to getting involved again.
Jarrett said Obama is eager to get back to his community organizer roots and is focused on helping the Democratic Party identify future leaders.
