It is difficult to find facts of this case in the mainstream media.
Eyewitness statements on video that night show that the men were attacked and chased down the street (out of view of cameras), where one of them opened fire on the mob. Prosecution argued that the white guys went to the protest with the intent of baiting blacks into attacking them so that they could kill in self defense. The available evidence does not show that, but Minnesota is ground zero for white guilt. I think the text messages from months prior that were otherwise unrelated to this incident probably weighed heavy on the jury in that region of the country.
