Dr Dre and Jay-Z and maybe Pitbull have talent. Eminem was really good and it wasn't white boi rap like French Prince.

I listened for about fifteen seconds of BTY. Overlays, distortion, and other crap designed to make bad music sound better.

I like original rap when guys rapped about life in the ghetto and South Central, about police harassment, prejudicial cops and judges and lawyers. Real life set to music in a way that told the truth about tough upbringings. I didn't say black lives as Eminem had it tough in a white ghetto and had stories to tell. Tupac was amazing; clear, concise lyrics that didn't demean the listeners, didn't play into stereotypes using 'ghetto talk' yet told a story.

Blondie rapped and it was cool. Before that, a rap song had radio and MTV play. Rappers Delight?

I remember when I first heard Eminem and loved his raps and style. I was talking with a friend, a black male, about rap. He said, "Jewish girls ain't supposed to like rap." I said, "like all blacks like watermelon and fried chicken?" He got the point and we talked for hours. It opened his eyes to his hidden prejudices.

Anyone can rap but not everyone can rap well.
