The hospitals make their bills so high, so they can write off the no pays as massive losses to be recouped from the federal govt..

And here in lies the true problem with healthcare in the USA. The pharmaceutical companies charge unbelievable prices for there products and the hospitals rig their prices based on the % of people who will not pay plus all the unnecessary ancillary staff that they used to inflate the charges you receive.

Hers is an example i have personally experienced. I use a prescribed hand cream that with insurance costs me about $16.00 a tube per month. Last month the pharmaceutical company raise the cost of that cream to $1060. a tube and that is with exactly the same insurance. The system is rigged to fuck you over no matter what. Do i pay the $1060, absolutely not i will just have to go without.
