For... what? To make the room sound more "dead", or to absorb echo, or something else ?
What movie posters? I assume they were framed? Wooden frames, or metallic? Glass?
Do you not have it anymore? If not, why? Did you move or, change it around?
Why did you do this? Was it just for how it felt? Or was there another reason?

Any room designed for the listening experience should have material to absorb echoes and runaway sound. Sound will bounce off of flat surfaces, use angled services or acoustic padding (any kind of cloth itself is helpful. Rugs, curtains) when possible to kill the bounce.
