Seriously. Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Youtube and other social media allow user to sell links besides their own advertising system? Still, there are a lot of people who sell tweets and twitter accounts (and that is not permitted), reblogs and tumblr blogs (and again, is not permited), facebook likes, pages and accounts (guess what, still not permitted by admins).
Why do you think Reddit it would be different?
But, like any other business in adult, do you have guarantees that your link will stay forever on Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook?
Why is so important for you to have express approval of Reddit admins and don't ask the same questions when you buy Twitter, Tumblr, Snapchat, Instagram or Facebook links, retweets or reblogs?
