Trump is unfit and to stupid to be president. His ego gets in the way.
Any smart person would have surrounded themselves with people who know what they are doing and follow their advice. Instead he surrounds himself with loyal yes men who have no balls to tell him how it is!
Any smart person would spend the time in meetings and reading briefings, and try to learn as much as possible before shooting off at the mouth, but not Chump
