So do the Russians. But we've been friends and even close allies with nations that have, since the fall of Communism, done many more and far worse wrong things than the Russians. Nations with a far worse track record on individual civil rights and democracy.
Regardless, the decision isn't like giving the Russians a medal or an award. It's about whether it's smart to work with them. I think that it is smart. It works to the advantage of this country to work with them. The hysteria and propaganda works for a hidden agenda that is not connected with benefit to the US or that of the world in general.
For what it's worth, there's no nation on the face of the planet that's been better at killing Fascists or killed more of them, than the Russians.

What I'm saying, is Russia is doing the samething you say we are doing. We are Russia's compitition in global arm sales as are other NATO countries.
Russia doesn't want to be our friend, they also want a boogie man shy can sell weapons o countries who are foes of the US/NATO.
Russia just wants to get out from under the sanctions because it's killing their economy. Putin wants Russia to be USSRv2.The USSR was supporting uprisings all over the globe up until they collapsed. That is what Putin wants again because they were major arms dealers then..
Oil is going bye bye which means Russia's source of income.. We have Russia contained and not letting them destabilize the world like they were doing in the 60s-80s.
